An Afternoon with Dr Anton Hasell
Join us on Saturday 9th December at 2pm and relax amongst Anton’s Bell sculptures as he tells his inspirational story. Learn how he began inventing Bells and developing his ideas to create sculptures inspired by time.
Anton is a professional artist living in Central Victoria. He has completed a number of significant public-space artworks in Melbourne and around Australia that include the ‘Federation Bells Carillon’ in Birrarung Marr Park, and the invention, casting and tuning of the 10 difference-tone bells for the Longnow Foundation’s 10,000-Year Clock project in the USA
Much of Anton’s artistic practice is based in computer-based design of musical bells. Inspired by the 10,000-year Clock project, Anton has recently been developing a series of mechanical clock and bell sculptures that explore a philosophy of the paradoxical. Central to this investigation is the challenge of climate change.
